For the tacos

Assemble the burgers

Pre-Preparation

This fun stack of beef burgers cooks low and slow before being shaved into tortillas for tacos.  Start by lathering your burger patties with a little canola oil, then seasoning them thoroughly with your favorite BBQ seasoning.

Step 1

Stack the Burgers

Start by stacking one burger patty with a slice of cheese on top followed by another patty with a slice of cheese on top. Repeat this until all the burger patties and cheese slices are on the trompo, then top the trompo with one half of your white onion

Step 2

Melt the Cheese

On a preheated grill, smoke the burgers for about 2 hours over indirect heat, rotating every 30 minutes for even cooking.

Step 3

Stir to Combine

Once the meat has cooked through, remove from heat and allow to rest 5 minutes before slicing similar to shawarma.

Step 4

Serve

Slice the meat off the trompo and begin building your taco with lettuce, onions, tomatoes, mayo, mustard, and ketchup. Serve & enjoy!
