BBQ Ranch Chicken

Because BBQ and ranch just go together. Add it to this chicken for flavor overload.

Ingredients

  • 2-3 bone-in or boneless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup of Cowboy Smokehouse BBQ Sauce
  • 1 cup of Ranch Dressing
  • 1 tbsp of Red Chili Flakes
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a disposable bag, place the chicken, BBQ sauce, and Ranch Dressing. Place in fridge and let marinate for 4 hours.
  • Use some Cowboy Hardwood Lump Charcoal to light fire and let burn for 15-20 minutes. Once charcoal is white hot, disperse evenly for direct grilling. Optional: For a more intense flavor, add some hickory or apple wood chunks to the top of the charcoal.
  • Pull chicken out 20 min before cooking in order to bring to room temperature. Season chicken with red chili flakes, salt & pepper.
  • Place chicken on grill for 8-10 min. per side or until internal temperature is 165F.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Homemade Ranch Dressing
Our BBQ ranch chicken is a pretty easy meal to put together, so you may have extra time to make your own ranch dressing. It's really quick and simple! If you go for it, all you need to do is mix 2.5 tablespoons sour cream, 2 tablespoons mayonnaise, 1.5 tablespoons chopped parsley, 1 tablespoon dill, 1.5 teaspoons garlic powder and 1 teaspoon black pepper in a bowl. Slowly add buttermilk until you get that perfect ranch consistency — whether thick or a bit runny, it’s up to you. Once it’s seasoned to your liking with a pinch of salt, set it aside in the fridge until you’re ready to use it.
You may need to double or triple the dressing so you have enough for the BBQ ranch chicken. Great news though: it keeps well in a mason jar in the fridge. Then, you have ready-to-go ranch seasoning for recipes like chicken bacon ranch tacos, chicken bacon ranch skewers, chicken bacon ranch sliders and more.
