Why You’ll Love Marry Me Steak Tacos

What’s the key ingredient that makes Marry Me Steak Tacos so irresistible? It’s hard to pinpoint, but whenever sun-dried tomatoes and garlic come together with sour cream, I’d say something magical happens. The mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, and some bright fresh basil help too.

Combine that with my new Cowboy Butter Rub and FYR BLK Hot Sauce , and you have bold and beautiful steak pieces to build the best tacos ever. After you make this steak taco recipe, you’ll quickly see why social media followers love the combo so much.

The flour tortilla packed with the steak and Marry Me Sauce gets crispy and gooey with melted cheese on the cast iron griddle.

These tacos, which we’ll crisp in a large skillet or cast iron pan, are versatile enough to suit a marriage proposal, a casual date night, or Taco Tuesday.

Keep in mind that this recipe is flexible. If you don’t want to do tacos, you could also easily do nachos. Simple drizzle the Marry Me sauce over the crispy tortilla chips smothered in that perfectly seasoned steak.

How to Make Marry Me Steak Tacos

Start by preparing the steak. Rub the steaks with FYR BLK Hot Sauce, then generously coat them with Cowboy Butter Rub. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, about 400F, and grill the steaks for 3–4 minutes per side until they reach 120F internal for medium rare. Let the steaks rest on a cutting board before slicing them into bite-sized cubes.

The filet mignon steaks were seasoned in Cowboy Butter Rub and some FYR BLK hot sauce, all made by Derek Wolf.

While the steak rests, let’s make the Marry Me Sauce in a blender (or large bowl with an immersion stick).

Combine sour cream, mayo, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh basil, Parmesan cheese, and a squeeze of lemon juice. Add chili flakes, garlic cloves, parsley, and black pepper. Blend until the sauce is roughly chopped but still textured for that perfect balance of creamy and flavorful.

The Marry Me Steak sauce is made with fresh ingredients like sun-dried tomatoes and garlic and blended with mayonnaise and sour cream.

Now, heat a cast iron skillet over medium heat to prepare the tacos. Place a tortilla in the pan and warm one side. Flip it over, sprinkle shredded cheese on top, then add steak cubes, a drizzle of the Marry Me Sauce, diced onions, and parsley.

The steak tacos are constructed on the grill before getting the final crispiness from the griddle.

Fold the tortilla in half and let it crisp up, cooking until the cheese is melted and the tortilla is golden brown. Repeat with the remaining tortillas until all your tacos are ready. Then, it’s time to dig in and see if these tacos get the ultimate “yes!”

Tips for Making the Best Steak Tacos

Don’t skip resting the steak after grilling! It locks in the juices and makes slicing easier. For an extra kick of flavor and heat, mix some garlic powder and chili powder into the cheese before crisping the tacos. You could also add in a drizzle of that FYR BLK Hot Sauce too!

What to Serve with Marry Me Steak Tacos

Marry Me Steak Tacos pair beautifully with corn salsa, lime wedges, or a sprinkle of Cotija cheese. To round out the meal, consider tortilla chips, beef enchiladas, or a fresh cilantro salad. If you’re hosting, shrimp tacos or tender chicken dishes are great options for completing your Tuesday Taco Night menu.

Leftovers & Reheating Instructions

For the best results, store each component separately in airtight containers in the fridge for up to three days. Keep the steak, Marry Me Sauce, and tortillas apart to maintain their texture and flavor.

When you’re ready to reheat, fire up your grill and place a cast iron skillet over medium heat. Add a splash of vegetable oil or olive oil to the skillet, then reheat the steak cubes, tossing occasionally until warmed through and tender.

To crisp up the tortillas, warm them directly in the skillet for a few minutes until they’re golden and pliable. Assemble the tacos fresh for that just-made perfection.
